The Orchard

Our greater goal is to plant abundant perennial food forests that will provide for decades, and that includes an area at the back of the property where we will eventually plant a tree guild, we planted the majority of our plum fruit trees along a single perimeter of our property so far. With more being added every season.

We did also plant a small orchard of common domestic apples, malus domestica that replaced our original test plot for a cold hardy vineyard. Our growing zone is 4a, but warmer or colder depending on where you look and who you ask. To err on the side of caution, we’ve selected some of the most cold hardy fruit trees, and fruit tress that are proven performers for our climate.
