We had an small Predator gas motor from Harbor Freight that wasn’t being used, so we hooked up a semi-trash pump that we found at a big discount last winter to it, and welded up a secure mount for it that slides into a 2 inch universal receiver.
While our property is primarily irrigated off of a 3 phase pump from a creek, sometimes there are locations or times of the year that it is just easier to directly apply water, or it is nice to have when burning and clearing brush for fire suppression. The small irrigation/transfer pump can easily be placed on any 2 inch receiver hitch and makes it incredibly easy to move around and use on our property. If you don’t weld, you aren’t completely out of luck, there are many portable pumps on the market that aren’t all that big or heavy, but plenty capable.
