Our 1954 Farmall Super M came with a pretty used and abused PTO drive DuAl 340 loader. It clearly has been pushed to its limit, and shows signs of bending, cracked welds, and deforming bolts. That stress on the loader is also why we inspected the tractor for stress cracks thoroughly before we made our purchase.
We used the loader through all of fall and winter 2023 before the cracks in some of the welds in the support struts of the loader completely broke. To avoid having the loader become dangerous or break in a less than idea location, we pulled it off of the Super M, and have slowly worked on both the tractor and the loader to get them both in great shape for winter 2024.
While writing this article we are receiving our first real rain/snow winter event, so the race is on to get the loader repaired, back on the Super M, and out of the driveway! Follow our Instagram for updates on our projects.
